Men’s Tennis Reigns Supreme in Conference Home Opener

The Riverside City College men's tennis team hosted its first Orange Empire Conference (OEC) contest on Tuesday against the Saddleback College Gauchos. The Tigers swept doubles play to set the tone thus leading to a 7-2 victory.

Freshman Aurelien Arlot and Chris Lee were slotted as the top doubles team and earned an 8-3 victory. Sophomore Gleb Mityurin and freshman Florian Sirven also reigned supreme at 8-3 in the second position, while sophomore Ayrton Aviles and freshman Marcelo Dominguez mirrored the same score in a victory as the third doubles squad.

Mityurin continued on to act as the top singles player and cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory. Arlot followed with a 6-0, 6-3 win in the second position, while Sirven backed him with a 6-1, 6-0 victory as the number five.
