SOFTBALL: TIGER BIT

In a needed conference game, the Hornets were blanked by Riverside City College at home Wednesday 4-0.

The game was scoreless through the first three innings in what looked like a pitching duel. Fullerton had held RCC hitless, and RCC had only given up two hits.

It all turned for the worse for FC the fourth inning when the Tigers ripped off four runs. Kaylen Gomez hit a single and got to second base on a fielding error. Two RCC runners were able to cross home. Kailee Gilbert hit a single to center field scoring another run, and Terri Nava then ripped a double to right field scoring the fourth blow to the Hornets.

Fullerton did their best to shut down the Riverside offense for the rest of the game, but the damage was done. Unable to generate any runs (3 total hits), the Hornets took the loss breaking their five-game win streak.

Up Next: Fullerton (9-10, 4-5) will look to get on another hot streak when they travel up to Santa Barbara City College this Saturday for a double-header. The first game is at noon and the second game will be at 2:00 pm.
