Falcons fall to CRC in extra innings

In Friday's opening game of the weekend 3-game series at Cosumnes River, the Falcons took a 2-0 lead after five innings but couldn't hold off the Hawks.  With single runs in the sixth and seventh innings, the Hawks tied it up and sent the game to extras, where they would eventually win on a walk-off single in the eighth inning.  It was a tough loss for the Falcons, who outhit the Hawks 10 hits to 8 and committed two less errors than CRC.  Falcon freshman pitcher Jenna Kendrick deserved a better fate as she struck out seven batters and walked none in the loss.  Shortstop Ariana Riojas and right fielder Lilly Alvarez led the Falcons with two hits apiece in the loss.
