Chargers Softball Crowned OEC Tournament Champions

FULLERTON, CA- The Cypress Chargers (20-7, 16-5 OEC) traveled to Fullerton College on Friday afternoon to take on Hornets (21-6, 21-5 OEC) for the OEC Tournament Championship. Cypress ended the season on high note taking down Fullerton, 5-0. 

Emily Rush (7.0 IP) threw a complete game two-hitter as she dominated on the mound for Cypress. Camryn Addimando (2-for-3, 2 Runs) and Aubry New (2-for-3, 2 RBI) led the offense for the Chargers. Emily Rush (1 RBI) and Jordan Thompson (1-for-4, 1 RBI) each knocked in a run for Cypress. 

Emily Rush was dominant on the mound, but she also helped the Chargers offense at the plate. In the fourth inning, Rush hit a sacrafice fly to right field to drive in Alyssa Huerta for the first run of the game. Jordan Thompson singled with two outs in the fifth inning scoring Camryn Addimando. Addimando knocked in a run of her own in the sixth inning, pushing the Cypress lead to 3-0. Aubry New tacked on two more runs with a double to the left field fence making the Chargers lead five. Cypress would go on to shutout the Hornets winning the OEC Tournament Championship, 5-0.
