The San Diego City College women's volleyball team played a second consecutive 5-setter on Friday, but came away victorious this time as they battled back to win the final two sets and defeat East Los Angeles, 3-2 (17-25, 25-23, 23-25, 25-16, 15-6).

Mariah Wonders led the Knights with 15 kills, 13 digs, and two blocks in the win that improved City's record to 3-2. Alana Holloway had 13 kills and eight digs, while Kiara Pena added 10 kills and 20 digs.
Setter Kareemah Hopkins had a great all-around game with 10 kills, 13 digs, three blocks, and 40 assists.
Friday's results was a nice turnaround after losing a 2-0 lead at home over Golden West on Wednesday. The Knights were ahead 19-15 in the third set of that match and looking as though they would win in a sweep, but Golden West rallied back to earn the 3-2 victory.
City will be on the road for their next three matches beginning on Wednesday, September 11 at Rio Hondo. The Knights will then play Chaffey and East L.A. at Chaffey College on September 13.
