Basketball Wins Back End Matchup Over Warriors

Compton, Calif. - Freshman Derrius Ennis scored 35 points en route to a Compton men's basketball 122-101 win over the Warriors on Wednesday evening.

The Tartars wore purple for colon cancer awareness, which recently has affected the Tartar family for its annual Coaches vs. Cancer game. 

Ennis shot 67 percent from the field with seven rebounds, four assists, and four steals. Freshmen Armon Cook and Jaylen Million were close behind with 20 points each. 

Sophomore L'kielynn Taylor posted a near triple-double with eight points, 10 assists, and 13 rebounds.

Compton improves to 8-17, 5-4, while El Camino drops to 7-18, 2-7.

The Tartars end the 2017-18 season on Friday, Feb. 16 against LA Southwest at 6 p.m. The team's three sophomores will be honored prior to the contest, and all Compton staff and faculty are invited Staff and Faculty Appreciation Night.
