Freshman forward Christopher Robinson netted his sixth goal of the season in the 75th minute and goalie Patrick Mahon had 11 saves as SBCC tied WSC rival LA Mission 1-1 at La Playa Stadium on Friday afternoon.

SBCC (7-3-3, 0-2-2) was outshot by LA Mission (3-8-4, 1-2-1) 12-8 on the afternoon.

The Eagles opened the scoring in the 20th minute when freshman forward Willy Pocasangre score his seventh goal of the season. Pocasangre, the second-leading scorer in the WSC North, was assisted by Matthew Ochoa.

SBCC's offense started sluggish as the Vaqueros didn't register a shot in the first half. However, the Vaqueros pressured LA Mission frequently in the second half and finally broke through with 15 minutes left in the match when Robinson scored the equalizer off a pass from Luiz Garcia. The crucial assist was the first career point for Garcia, a freshman midfielder from San Marcos High School.

The Vaqueros are on the road for their next two matches and will be back in action on Oct. 29 when they travel to Santa Monica to take on the Corsairs, the only WSC North team SBCC has yet to face this year.
