The MSJC women's soccer team came up with two wins last week as they shut out San Diego Miramar 13-0 and Santa Ana 2-0.

In a home match last Tuesday the Eagles jumped out to a 1-0 lead just 5 minutes into the match on a goal from Eden Rivas and an assist from Aaliyah Sims, from there the MSJC offense was unstoppable as they led 8-0 by halftime.  By the time the match was over it was 13-0 in favor of the Eagles.  Karyme Mendoza had a hat trick as she scored 3 goals and had 2 assists.  Sims finished with a pair of goals and 3 assists.  Chloe Baeza and Alyssa Acevedo also each collected 3 goals a piece and Alisson Montoya had 2 assists.  Nicole Molina and Andrea Landeros combined for a shut out in goal.

On Friday the Eagles defense was once again center stage as they recorded their fourth straight shut out in a 2-0 win on the road at Santa Ana.  A goal from Athziri Beltran in the 17th minute gave MSJC the first goal of the day with an assist from Sims.  Sims then would add the only other goal of the day when she scored unassisted in the 36th minute.  Landeros and Molina again shared time in goal with Landeros making 5 saves on the day and Molina making 2.

The Eagles now 4-1 on the season will be on the road this week for matches at Long Beach Tuesday and Compton on Thursday.  Tuesday's match is set to kick off at 2 pm while Thursday's match will get underway at 4.  The Eagles next home match at Carl Quandt Stadium will be Tuesday September 20th at 1 pm against Porterville.
