REDDING, Calif. – The Shasta College softball team stretched its losing streak to 10 games after dropping two games at Sierra College and two at home.

Shasta College lost to Sierra College 12-1 in five innings and lost to Ohlone 9-1 on Saturday. On Sunday at home, Shasta lost to American River 13-1 in six innings and lost 10-0 to Cabrillo in five innings.

No. 8 Sierra 12, Shasta 1 – 5 innings
Brooke Blades scored the lone run for the Knights in the fifth inning. Autumn Giannini, Madisen Borek and Calley Rupert each had a hit. Kyndall Holleman gave up 12 runs on 14 hits in five innings to take the loss.

Ohlone 9, Shasta 1
The Knights took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third when Borek drove in Madeline Nightingale. But Shasta gave up seven runs in the bottom of the fourth. Borek, Nightingale and Veronica Schlapia each had a hit. Blades took the loss, striking out four, walking two and giving up nine runs on 12 hits in four innings.

American River 13, Shasta 1 – 6 innings
The Beavers blew the game open with a six-run first inning and never looked back. Shasta's Blades and Nightingale each went 2 for 3, Giannini was 1 for 2 with an RBI and Borek had a hit. Blades gave up eight runs on seven hits in 1.1 innings to take the loss. Holleman gave up four runs on five hits in 3.2 innings of relief.

Cabrillo 10, Shasta 0 – 5 innings
Cabrillo's Alexis Navarro threw a perfect game against the Knights, striking out five and not allowing a base runner in the game. Holleman took the loss, giving up eight runs on 10 hits in 1.1 innings and Blades gave up two runs on five hits in 3.2 innings.

Shasta falls to 2-14 overall and plays a doubleheader Friday at Foothill College and a doubleheader against No. 3 San Mateo on Saturday.
