Mountie Men's Soccer shuts out Oxnard to win fourth straight

(Walnut, CA) Undefeated Oxnard College rolled into Walnut for a matchup with Mt. San Antonio College (7-2) on Tuesday, Sept. 27, and left with its first loss of the season, a 3-0 non-conference defeat.

The Mounties scored early with a goal by Andrew Vazquez on an assist from Jason A. Garcia in the 2nd minute. Alex Mendez scored next for the hosts in the 29th minute on an assist by Frank Gonzalez. Edward Castro scored the final goal of the game in the 67th minute on an assist from Vazquez.

In 90 minutes, goalie Jacob Cardenas held the Condors (5-1-1) scoreless with two saves.

Mt. SAC will wrap up its non-conference schedule at home on Friday, Sept. 30, at 6 p.m. against Allan Hancock College (1-6-2). South Coast Conference play begins for the Mounties on Tuesday, Oct. 4, at home against Rio Hondo College.
