PC closes non-conference schedule with loss in Monterey

MONTEREY – It was a rough night offensively for the Porterville College women's volleyball team. The Pirates couldn't get much momentum going and suffered a 3-0 non-conference loss at Monterey Peninsula College on Tuesday night.

Porterville lost the match by scores of 25-12, 25-11, and 25-17 to fall to 3-6 overall. The Pirates next will face West Hills College Coalinga on Friday (Sep. 16) in their Central Valley Conference opener.

On Tuesday, PC totaled 20 kills but couldn't keep up with an efficient MPC offense that hit .395 on the night.

Sophomore Victoria Dabney led PC with 6 kills while Rilynn Fien totaled 9 assists, 5, digs, and 4 kills. Samantha Smith added 4 kills and Andrea Frausto contributed 5 digs.
