Clark's Hat Trick leads Falcons over DVC
On paper, Tuesday evening's match between Diablo Valley (1-6-1) and Folsom Lake (8-0-2 at the time) looked like a lopsided affair. But the Vikings arrived in Folsom with a competitive mindset and gave the home team a test for almost 60 minutes before the Falcons pulled away to win, 4-0. Michaela Clark scored the first of her three Falcon goals – her second 'Hat Trick' of the season – right before halftime to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead at the break. She added two more in the first 15 minutes of the second half, then got an assist on Emily Doty's goal in the 70th minute. Clark is now the 4th leading scorer in the state with 11 goals, and also #4 in points (goals plus assists) with 27.
The Falcons improved to 9-0-2 and are tied for first place in the Big 8 with Delta at 4-0-1. They will play at American River (currently tied for 3rd in the Big 8 at 3-1) on Friday afternoon at 4:00 pm.
