Abel Flores found the back of the net twice against Cañada

In a battle of two of the top teams in the Coast, the West Valley men's soccer team captured a 2-0 win over visiting Cañada Saturday afternoon. After an uneventful nil-nil opening half, Abel Flores sent a Bernardo Berardinelli feed into the back off the net in the 50th minute and then connected again on an Andy Nunez cross at 74'. Irvin Cardoza turned away four Colt shots to earn his third clean sheet of the season. The Vikings (5-4-3, 3-1-1 Coast) have a bye Tuesday and then head over Highway 17 Friday (10/25) for a crucial contest against Cabrillo (5-4-3, 2-1-2). Kickoff is 7:00pm in Aptos.
