REDDING, Calif. – The No. 14 Shasta College women's basketball team fell 36-33 at home to No. 19 San Mateo in the opening round of the California Community College Athletic Association's Regional Playoffs.

The Knights trailed 23-17 at halftime and cut it to three entering the final period. However, several missed shots in the paint as part of their 9 for 58 shooting (15 percent) night doomed Shasta. The Knights were 4 of 21 from downtown and 11 of 16 from the free throw line.

Amber Wallace and Trinity Fernandez each scored 11 points to lead the Knights. Fernandez added eight steals while Kaleia Mizuta and Isabela Padilla both pulled down six rebounds.

Shasta finished the season 13-15 overall.

Three players averaged double figures in scoring: Wallace (13.0 PPG), Padilla (10.9 PPG) and Mizuta (10.1 PPG).
