Falcons win 2020 opener, 9-1

On Friday, the Falcons rode the arm of freshman right hander Gabe Emmett to a season-opening 9-1 victory over the Roadrunners.  Emmett pitched five strong innings, allowing just three hits and one earned run.  Meanwhile, the Falcon offense banged out 16 hits, led by first baseman Troy Shields' three-hit, 2-rbi day (including a triple).  Freshman Hunter Hayes and sophomore James Pizzuti shut the Roadrunners down over the final four innings, pitching two innings each.
