No. 16 Women's Soccer Falls to No. 17 Reedley in Double Overtime Heartbreaker

Fairfield, Calif. - Sophomore Isabella Kelly-Fondersmith scored first, but the 16th-seeded Solano women's soccer team fell 2-1 to 17th-seeded Reedley in double overtime on Thursday afternoon in the CCCAA Women's Soccer Northern Regional Play-In Round.

After a scoreless first half, Kelly-Fondersmith scored in the 50th minute to give the Falcons the early lead. But Reedley was able to equalize the match in the 65th minute forcing overtime. Reedley found the back of the goal in the second overtime in the 111th minute to stand as final.

Sophomore Kirstyn Gotschall recorded 24 saves in the complete-match effort.

Solano finishes the 2019 season 13-6-3 after finishing second in the Bay Valley Conference with a 12-1-1 record.
