Owls Battle Bulldogs

Citrus College battled but dropped a pair of games, 11-10 and 17-5 (five innings), at Allan Hancock.

The Owls slip to 5-10 with the losses, while the Bulldogs improve to 6-3.

Citrus out-hit Allan Hancock in the opener but gave up four errors which led to its demise.

Alexis Cordero led the Owls with a 3-for-4 performance at the plate with two runs. Layla Prieto and Jillian Walker each had two hits in the game, while Walker knocked in four RBIs. Mia Godoy also had four RBIs after knocking a grand slam in the top of the fifth.

In the nightcap, Ericka Pineda, Godoy and Walker each went 2-for-3 at the plate, with Pineda and Godoy each driving in two runs and scoring one of their own.

Like they did in the first game, the Owls struck first once again in the nightcap, but the Bulldogs scored six runs in the bottom of the first to jump in control of the game. Allan Hancock sealed the victory with 10 runs in the fourth.

The Owls head to Oxnard on Tuesday to start a two-game series. Citrus hosts the Condors on Thursday, March 3. Both games are set to begin at 2:30 p.m.
