Compton, Calif. - Freshman Marisol Mercado earned a pair of wins, one each in her singles and doubles matches, but the Compton badminton team fell 18-3 to El Camino on Friday afternoon.

Mercado defeated Pia Torres in three (21-18, 10-21, 21-14) before teaming with freshman Barbara Najera to defeat Sam Kong and Ivy Tolentino.

The women's badminton team resumes competition at East LA on Friday, Mar. 16 at 2 p.m.
