The West Valley baseball team ran into a hot-hitting College of San Mateo squad Thursday afternoon, falling 10-1 to the Bulldogs in Saratoga. CSM strung together 14 hits, including HRs from Angelo Bartolin and Nick Knecht, off four Viking pitchers. West Valley (12-7, 1-1 Coast) tied it at 1-1 in the 4th on Kyle Ochoa's RBI fielder's choice, but the Bulldogs (11-7, 1-1) broke it open with three runs in the 6th, four in the 7th and two in the 8th. Troy Gilmore was 3-3 on the day and Nate Petrov finished 2-4. Nick Johnson took the loss, giving up seven hits and striking out five in 5 1/3 innings.
