OVETIME LOSS

OVETIME LOSS: The Lady Hornets lost a close one to district rival Cypress College 67-63 on the road Wednesday night.

FC held a narrow 25-23 lead at the end of the first half.  In the second half, the the two two teams battled keeping it close, but the Chargers eventually took the lead and won in overtime.

The difference-maker for the game was free-throws.  Cypress hit 64% of the shots from the line as Fullerton shot 50%.  The Hornets led in rebounding (41-47), shooting (37%-33.8%), and assists (20-11).

FC forward Amber Washington led the team with 16 points, 11 rebounds, 3 steals, and 1 blocked shot.  Forward Stephanie Drayer had 12 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 steal.  Guard Irma Urzua chipped in with 10 points and Laura Curiel dished out 8 assists.  

With the loss the Hornets have an overall record of 4-11 and are 0-1 in the Orange Empire Conference.  The Chargers are now 12-7 overall and 2-0 in OEC-play.
