The Knights' ninth inning rally fell short on Sunday as they fell to 0-7 on the season after a 7-5 loss to East Los Angeles.
Third baseman Alex Garcia went 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI, and a run. Catcher Nick Mora went 3-for-5 and scored a run.
The Knights were down 7-1 in the bottom of the ninth with two outs and nobody on base, but that's when their bats finally came alive and nearly pulled off a comeback. Hector Carreon started the rally with a walk and then came around to score on an error.
With Rigo Duarte on third base, Garcia hit an RBI single to give the Knights their second run of the inning. The bases were loaded for pinch-hitter AJ Trias after a Mora single and an Alejandro Velasco walk, and he came through with an RBI single to center field.
Pinch-runner Jack Early came home on a wild pitch to close the gap to 7-5 with two Knights still on base, but pinch-hitter Jason VIllasana couldn't keep the rally going as he struck out swinging to end the game.
