Women’s Water Polo Grabs Two Wins on the Weekend

The El Camino College women's water polo team opened the 2021 season with a pair of wins in three matches over the weekend.

On Friday, the Warriors fell 11-3 to Palomar before scoring a 10-0 win over Rio Hondo at the Saddleback Tournament. The team followed that with a 10-3 victory over Santa Monica on the road on Saturday morning at the SMC pool.

Melissa Brill and Devi Bose led the scoring attack for the Warriors in the three matches. Brill found the back of the net eight times in three games while Bose scored five times. Brittany Sanchez added four goals and Kirby Clark scored three times for ECC on the weekend.

Sophomore Sophia Caravello made 29 total saves in net, playing 10 quarters as the Warriors net-minder as she secured a 2-1 record on the weekend. In addition, Caravello added a goal and two assists as she played as a field player in all three matches.

The Warriors will return to action this weekend as they face Saddleback in a road contest on Friday followed by a pair of matches at the L.A. Valley Mini Tournament on Saturday.
