The West Valley baseball team had its seven-game win streak snapped 7-2 Saturday at Skyline.

The Vikings (11-9, 2-1 Coast-North), who lost for the first time since Feb. 18, saw their bats go silent as they mustered seven lonely singles against the Trojans (14-4, 2-1).

WVC jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the third when Pako Vehikite came home on an E6 and Jared Reupert scored on a passed ball. Skyline scored all their runs in two innings - four in the fifth and three in the seventh.

Vehikite and Reupert each had a pair of singles, while Viking starter Mason Mooney took the loss, giving up two runs on six hits with a pair of K's in five innings.

The Viking-Trojan series resumes Tuesday (3/10) at Valhalla. First pitch is 2:30pm.
