LANCASTER - The only other better start to the season for the Marauder baseball team was in 2007.
In that season the Marauders opened the season with a 10-0 record. However, this year's team in close on its heels.
AVC collected another two victories against Imperial Valley, 12-0 and 4-1, Saturday at Marauder Stadium, improving its record to an impressive 6-0 on the season.
In the first game, AVC had at least six players with one RBI, led by Kyle Lathrop who finished with two. Ethan Avant was 2-for-4 with his third triple of the season. Austin Baker pitched all seven innings, allowing only four hits, while striking out four.
In AVC 4-1 victory, the offensive spark was provided by Daulton Stanton who was 1-for-2 with two RBI. His two-run single in the bottom of the fourth inning broke a scoreless tie. Austin Grabbitt only only two hits and one run and struck out three. Andrew Elliott picked up the save in relief of Grabbitt and pitched two no-hit innings.
The Marauders look to improve on its perfect record when they take the field again on the road at LA Valley on Thursday.
