Baseball Loses in Extras against Mendocino

Fairfield, Calif. - Four Falcons counted three-hit outings led by freshman first baseman Cameron Appling, but the Solano baseball team lost in 10 innings to Mendocino, 14-11, on Tuesday afternoon.

Appling went 3-for-6 at the plate with two doubles and two RBI. Sophomore centerfielder Wellington Balsley and freshmen right fielder Cameron Martin and shortstop Nathan Jessell each counted three hits with Jessell counting three RBI. Freshman designated hitter Herbie Lane went yard for the Falcons, earning a pair of RBI and scoring a pair of runs.

Sophomore Matthew Hansen (0-1) was charged with the loss giving up all three earned runs in the 10th inning.

Solano (3-13) heads to Napa Valley next on Thursday, Mar. 5 for a 2 p.m. start.
