SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The SBCC men's soccer team remained unbeaten with its largest win so far this year, 4-0 over Citrus on Friday night at La Playa Stadium.

Santa Barbara is now 2-0-2 on the young season, while Citrus falls to 1-3.

Four different Vaqueros put away their first goals of the season, with midfielder Jake Dunn opening the scoring in the fourth minute on an unassisted goal.

Seven minutes later, a couple more midfielders linked up as Paulo Carrillo-Weisenburger setup Dylan Rogers to make it 2-0. Carrillo-Weisenburger now has an assist in three of four outings as he remains the only Vaquero with multiple assists in 2021.

SBCC's third goal came in the 30th minute, with forward Will Demirkol finding forward Tanner Stevenson to put the home side up 3-0.

The Vaqueros finished with 17 shots, seven of which came in the second frame. One of their final attempts saw forward Luis Mora scoring off a Ben Jackson assist in the 85th minute.

The goalkeepers combined for three saves with Sunny Dhaliwal getting his second win. It was the second shutout of the year for SBCC and the second time it has scored four goals.

"A good display from everyone tonight and a thoroughly deserved win," said head coach John Sisterson.

Next Tuesday, Sept. 14 will see Glendale visiting Santa Barbara at 7:00 p.m. in the last of a three-game Vaquero home stand.
