The West Valley women's water polo team swept SoCal opponents in the opening day of the Mt. SAC Invtational in Walnut.

The Vikings (9-3) overwhelmed Orange Coast 17-7 in the morning opener thanks to eight goals from Alexandra Ruzsa and seven saves from keeper Raquel Sa (de Pinho). Ruzsa had a team-high four scores and Pino gathered in eight saves as WVC capped the day with a 15-8 win over Saddleback. The Vikings take on Fullerton (6-2) and El Camino (1-2) Saturday.
