SACRAMENTO (2-27) – Cosumnes River hosted Lassen in the first round of the CCCAA Men's Basketball Championship. The Hawks topped the Cougars 108-104 in overtime.

The Hawks were in control from the tip until the halftime break as they led 58-49 at the half. With the up-tempo style of play for both postseason teams, the Hawks and Cougars duked it out offensively in the second half. The Cougars got back into the ballgame to send the game into overtime. In the overtime frame, the Hawks stayed on course for the win. Marcus Robinson finished 4-for-4 from the free throw line to tie the game and secure the victory. Sean Granucci hit a clutch three pointer to give the Hawks the leads for good in overtime.

Robinson had twenty-eight points,  five rebounds, seven assists and three steals, Paul Ohiri had a double double with eighteen points and fifteen rebounds and one assist, Drew Buggs had sixteen points, six rebounds and one assist, Khari Hutt had fifteen points, four rebounds, seven assists and one steal and Brandon Gray had fifteen points, three rebounds, two assists and three steals.

The Hawks will travel to CCCMBCA #1 City College of San Francisco on Saturday.
