Dons Begin the New Year with Record-Breaking Performance against Grossmont

SANTA ANA, Calif. – The Santa Ana women's basketball team started the new year off right with a record-breaking performance as it hit 17 three pointers on the way to a 96-65 win over Grossmont College on Thursday night.

Nicole Robles, Nyla Bivens and Brianna Aluva knocked down four threes a piece to lead the way as the Dons topped the record set during the 2017-18 season against Orange Coast. Sunshine Townson and Jayme Ehlert added a couple threes each while Lexi Ross recorded one.

While Santa Ana was clicking on the offensive end, they also found a way to speed up the Griffins, forcing 32 turnovers with 22 steals.

UP NEXT: Santa Ana will take on No. 3 ranked Palomar College on Friday at 6:00 p.m. in the second game of the Green and Red Crossover. Palomar defeated Riverside 91-68 on Thursday night.
