TORRANCE, Calif. – El Camino College won its sixth straight game and stayed undefeated in South Coast Conference play with a 3-1 (25-18, 25-21, 23-25, 25-20) victory over Pasadena Wednesday night at the ECC South Gym.

Mikayla Clark and Jocelyn Lacroix led the way offensively for the Warriors (10-4, 5-0) as they went for 17 and 12 kills respectively. Clark posted another double-double with 11 digs and Caitlin Donatucci dished out 38 assists in the victory.

Erykah Wilson had 14 kills to lead the Lancers (12-4, 3-2) with Nikki Hernandez (18) and Madison Blohm (17) combining for 35 assists in the loss.

Both teams served it well as the Warriors tallied 13 aces with Kelly Donatucci leading the way with five aces. She also added 18 digs to lead the team.

Meanwhile, the Lancers added 11 aces but also had 15 errors.

The Warriors controlled most of the match, trailing only once in the opening set. The team used a 10-4 scoring run to open up a seven-point advantage and they never looked back to take a 1-0 lead.

In the second, the teams battled back and forth as there were seven ties and two lead changes. The Warriors trailed 12-10 and then mounted an 8-1 scoring run to seize the lead. A short burst from the Lancers cut ECC's lead to two but the Warriors were able to fend off Pasadena and take a 2-0 lead.

The Warriors seemed poised for a sweep in the third set, leading by a score of 18-13. But the Lancers mounted a 6-0 run to take the lead. The teams traded points before Wilson fired off consecutive aces to secure a 25-23 win for Pasadena and force a fourth set.

In the fourth, the Warriors led wire-to-wire and were up 24-14 before the Lancers mounted one last stand, scoring six straight points to make things interesting. But an attack by Wilson went long to secure the win for ECC.

The Warriors will return to action Friday as they host East Los Angeles at the ECC South Gym. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
