The West Valley basketball team outscored visiting Cabrillo 32-26 in the second half to clip the Seahawks 59-51 in the Coast Conference season finale Friday night. The Vikings (14-14, 8-4 Coast-South) got nine points from Devante Johnson and eight from Cristian Mejia to extend a 27-25 halftime lead. Johnson and Beattie Roggasch III each converted a pair of free throws in the final 30 seconds to seal the win. Johnson finished a game-high 19 points, along with five rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals. Mejia and Jacquez each had ten points, while Ryan Hewitt corralled ten rebounds to go along with eight points. Trey Whitley led the Seahawks (20-7, 9-3) with ten points. West Valley's postseason fate will be determined Monday at the NorCal playoff seeding meeting.
