Saddleback
The Santiago Canyon College Softball closed out the Saddleback series with two wins on Friday. In game one of the day, SCC topped the Gauchos 11-3 in a six inning mercy rule win, followed by an 8-3 victory in the second and final game of the day.
Hailey Guillen recorded the victory for the Hawks pitching staff in the first game. Guillen held the Gauchos to just 3 hits and 1 earned run over 6 innings of work bringing her overall record to 4-2. The Hawks offense combined for 12 hits including a 3-for-4 performance from winning pitcher Hailey Guillen (two doubles, 2 runs scored, 1 RBI), and a 3-for-4 game from Liliana Navarro who had a 2-run home run and a double for a total of 5 RBI's. Samantha Villanueva went 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI.
In the second and final game of the series, Scarlett Adams threw a complete game victory allowing only 1 earned run. Liliana Navarro continued her hot streak going 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored and an RBI. Jazmyn Moetului was 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored. Sabrina Rivera and Alexandra Molina each drove in 2 runs for the Hawks.
The Hawks have 2 more weeks left in Orange Empire Conference play. They will continue the action with a 4-game series against Santa Ana College this week. The Hawks will be on the road on Wednesday with game one scheduled at 1pm.
