Gauchos fall to Hornets in OT

The Saddleback women's basketball team was so close to victory it could taste in on Friday night, but ended up falling short in overtime to Fullerton College, 54-50.  The Hornets drained a three-pointer at the buzzer with no time remaining on the clock to send the game to overtime, and edged the Gauchos in the extra frame.

Tatiana Scott drilled a 20-footer with no time remaining on the clock to send the game to overtime.  She would later put the game on ice with 11 seconds remaining in extra session with two free throws, finishing with a game-high 15 points.  Saddleback had one last opportunity to tie the game, but Brooke Wright's three-pointer with three seconds remaining in the game hit the back iron, sealing the fate for Saddleback. 

Myishia Watkins led Saddleback with 11 points while Ranasia Gatson chipped in 10.  Karla Roacha-Cota had an outstanding game beneath the glass, collecting 18 rebounds in a losing effort.

Saddleback fell to 10-11 overall and 1-3 in Orange Empire Conference play with the loss.  The Gauchos will play next at Riverside College next Wednesday.  Tip time is set for 5:30 PM.
