In its 29th game and 24th win of the season, the GCC Women's Basketball Team displayed the kind of resilience and fortitude that has served them well this year. The occasion Saturday at home in the Verdugo Gym was the second round of the Southern California Regional Playoffs and the result for the No. 7 seeded Lady Vaqs was a 55-50 win over Allan Hancock College and a date with No. 2 seeded and undefeated Palomar College March 4 in Sam Marcos near San Diego. Allan Hancock had a previous win over Glendale this season, 55-50 Dec. 21.

Leading almost from start to finish, Glendale had four players in double figures, all sophomores, as Faith Boulanger led the team with 17 points, seven rebounds, four steals and one blocked shot, Maile Yamada had 15 points, three assists and two steals and Megan Delgado had 11 points off the bench including three 3-pointers. Hana Trieu had a game high five assists as GCC made 46 percent of its 3-point attempts.
