BASEBALL: LATE INNING SURGE JUST MISSES

The FC baseball team hosted Moorpark College on Friday afternoon and lost a close non-conference game 6-4.

The Hornets fell behind by a run in the 2nd inning when Dylan Swanson crossed home plate on an error.

Moorpark scored runs in the 4th and 5th innings. Swanson took advantage again on a wild pitch, and Alex Vega singled to the right side scoring Leighthon DeMello.

The Raiders went up 5-0 in the 7th inning scoring 2 runs on a single to center field by Swanson that scored Patrick Valdez and Cameron Kinsnser.

Fullerton got on the board in the bottom of the 7th on Luis Chavarin's SAC fly to center field giving Nolan Ewens the opportunity to score.

Moorpark got the run back in the 8th on a SAC fly to right by Kinsner scoring DeMello.

FC had a big inning in the 8th putting up 3 runs. Sawyer Chesley ripped a shot to right for a double scoring Tony Accordino and Brad Pellkofer. Ewens lined out to right and Chesley darted home.

In the bottm of the 9th, Fullerton had a chance with Ryan Lamastra on second base, but it was not in the cards as the Hornets fell short after a strong effort.

Up Next: Fullerton (1-3 overall) travels south to Palomar College for another non-conference game on Saturday, February 1st. Game time is at 1:00 pm.
