Men’s Soccer Falls to the Huskies in Penalty Kicks

The Long Beach City College men's soccer team fell to the East Los Angeles College Huskies 4-1 in the first round of the South Coast Conference Championships. The game was tied 1-1 and settled in a penalty kick shootout.

The Huskies scored the first goal at the 21-minute mark to initially take the 1-0 lead. The Vikings rallied and finally smashed one in from sophomore midfielder Alexander Moreno to tie the game 1-1 in the 73rd minute.

After the second half finished, the penalty kicks shootout began to finalize the game. Freshman goalkeeper Oliver Juarez blocked the first Husky goal, but then the Vikings were not able to complete and lost the game 4-1.

The men's soccer team will be back on the field in Round Two of the South Coast Conference Championship on Tuesday, Nov. 19. Stay tuned to LBCCVikings.com for more details.
