PANTHERS GET CONFERENCE OPENING WIN AT RIO HONDO
Men's Water Polo opened the 2019 conference season yesterday at Rio Hondo, defeating the Roadrunners 18-17. Freshmen Adrian Trejo and Jacob Bell scored 13 of the Panthers' 18 goals in a game that had Chaffey on top at the end of all four periods. Trejo scored the tying goal while fellow newbie Braden Bailey secured the conference win for the Panthers.
"It was a good outing for us and a great way to start the conference season," said Head Coach Chris Carlson. "We need to beef up our defense but overall it was a good showing for the guys. Trejo and Bell scored and the team's working together in the water. This weekend should be good for us and hopefully we'll go 4-0 at Mesa."
The men have tournament play the next two weekends - first at San Diego Mesa and then at Cerritos.
