KNIGHTS LOSE HOME OPENER TO FOLSOM LAKE 73-64

REDDING, Calif. – Shasta College's women's basketball team lost to Folsom Lake 73-64 in its home opener on Tuesday to suffer its third defeat of the year.

The Knights committed only nine turnovers in the game but was called for 14 fouls to Folsom Lake's five and shot only 35 percent (26-of-74) compared to Folsom's 48 percent (29-of-60).

The Knights trailed 40-30 at halftime and 63-49 entering the fourth but doubled their opponents' score in the final period.

Freshman Megan Collins scored a team-high 21 points and dished seven assists while Jenna Wallace scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for a double-double. Riley Wallen pitched in with 13 points and nine boards. Shasta's bench was outscored 18-2.

Shasta drops to 5-3 and hosts the Shasta College Crossover Thursday through Saturday this week, playing San Mateo Thursday at 5 p.m., Simpson University's JV team Friday at 5 p.m. and West Los Angeles Saturday at noon.
