Citrus College posted five hits and sent three runners home in a 12-3 defeat to Santiago Canyon College Saturday afternoon.
The Fighting Owls fall to 0-8, while the Hawks improve to 11-4.
Hailee Reinert had a strong showing at the plate, finishing 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Briana Poteet, Arianna Villegas and Melanie Barba also had a hit each in the loss.
Reinert came up big with a home run in the top of the third, sending it sailing over the fence at right.
Barba sent two runners home in the top of the fourth with a double down the left field line, but it was all the Owls would be allowed as the Hawks won the game 12-3 in five innings.
