Women's Soccer On a Roll

The women's soccer team is on a 3-game winning streak. The Corsairs beat Glendale 11 to nothing on September 27th in an away game.

The Corsairs scored 6 goals in the first half by six different players, and for a total of nine different players scoring that match. That was an outstanding game and the objective of keeping clean sheets was accomplished along with scoring multiple goals.

A greater challenge was faced yesterday, Friday, September 30th, in a home game against West LA College. The game started well for the Corsairs and in the 26' minute of the game Midfielder, Sophie Doumitt scored her 4th goal of the season. Four minutes later the Wildcats managed to score the equalizer, and the two teams went even to halftime.

The second half started strong again, as Midfielder, Eden Hotch scored her first goal of the season, 4 minutes into the second half. West LA pressed SMC on their side of the field after the goal until they managed to score their 2nd and even out the score 2-2 in the 55' minute of the game.

The last word was Ali Alban's who score a penalty kick after a tackle in the box by the Wildcats. The Corsairs won 3-2 and deserved it after outscoring the Wildcats 14-5 in attempts on goal, and managed to translate the offensive game to a win.

The Corsairs will face Bakersfield away, Tuesday, October 4th, at 4:00 pm.
