Women's Soccer Opens Season with 2-1 Victory at West Hills Lemoore

LEMOORE, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College women's soccer program opened the 2022 campaign with a 2-1 victory on the road against West Hills College Lemoore on Friday afternoon. | BOX SCORE

West Hills (0-1) struck first with an early goal in the first five minutes of action, but Cynthia Ramirez evened the playing field with a goal of her own in the 53rd after an assist from Kaihla Lopez. Ramirez came through for the Bulldogs (1-0) once more in the 85th minute with the game-winning goal. 

Ramirez, a freshman from Arroyo Grande, led the way for the team with four shots on target. Estrella Guzman also contributed to the offensive effort with three shots on target, followed by one apiece from Hayde Gallardo and Annette Vargas

Ally Britt and Maya Mendek each spent 45 minutes in the box and collected one save each. Britt opened the game as the starting keeper while Mendek, who was credited with the win, closed the contest for the squad.

The Bulldogs will return to action on Friday, September 2nd, for the home opener against Reedley College at 4 PM.
