It got scary for a couple sets on Halloween for the West Valley volleyball team. The Vikings, however, recovered for a 25-17, 24-26, 24-26, 17-15 thriller of a win against City College of San Francisco Thursday afternoon in Saratoga. WVC (16-7, 7-1 Coast) compiled 71 kills, led by Aaryan Hashimi with 17 (63%), 16 each from Jaida Ward and Rene Wash, and 15 from Hannah Moore. Hashimi also recorded two aces and two blocks, while Della Trimble handed out 47 assists and Kayla Keller came up with 18 digs. Trimble had a team-high four service aces and Audrey Fernandez continued her stellar play with 20 assists. Moore followed Keller with 11 digs. The Vikings host Gavilan (10-11, 6-1) Wednesday (11/6) in an all-important Coast-South battle. First serve is 6:30pm.
