Mt. SAC Men's Soccer Remains Unbeaten With Tie Against Richland in Texas

(Dallas, TX) In a battle of unbeaten teams, Mt. SAC (9-0-1) and defending National Junior College Athletic Association Division III champion Richland College (10-0-1) remained undefeated by battling to a 2-2 tie in double overtime on Saturday.

The Thunderducks are currently ranked No. 1 in the NJCAA's Division III rankings.

Trailing 2-0 at halftime, Angel Santoyo put the Mounties on the board on an assist from Gerardo Cazares in the 50th minute to cut Richland's lead to one. The pair combined again when Santoyo put the ball in the opponents' net in the 60th minute to even the score.

Goalkeeper Alain Hernandez had six saves in 110 minutes for Mt. SAC.

The Mounties begin their South Coast Conference schedule with a match at Pasadena City College (5-4-1) on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 4 p.m.
