Men’s Basketball Drops Game to Fullerton

TORRANCE, Calif. – El Camino College turned the ball over and Fullerton capitalized as the Warriors fell 71-52 to the Hornets on Wednesday evening at the ECC North Gym.

The Warriors (0-4) turned the ball over 24 times and the Hornets (4-0) turned those miscues into 24 points. Three players scored in double figures for both teams but Fullerton went 16-for-36 from beyond the arc while the Warriors struggled from distance, going 3-for-17.

Darrian Williams-Youngblood led the Warriors with 17 points on 8-for-15 shooting. He added six rebounds and two steals. Jamal Howard scored 14 points with five boards and four steals and Jason Vasquez added 12 points, three rebounds and three assists.

Tawon Elson led the Hornets with 21 points on 7-for-17 shooting while going 5-for-10 from beyond the arc. Ronnie Stapp scored 14 points with four of his five makes coming from distance and D.J. Houston added 12 points for Fullerton in the win.

The Warriors will wrap up their four-game homestand on Friday night as they host Santa Ana at the ECC North Gym. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
