(Fullerton, CA) Behind a balanced offensive attack, the Mt. SAC Women's Basketball Team (10-5) scored a 92-43 win over San Diego Mesa (7-7) in the opening round of the Colleen Riley Holiday Invitational at Fullerton College on Saturday, Dec. 28.

Mina Guevera-Goss, Allyah Cartejena and Kyah Fizer scored 14 points each for the Mounties, while Lauryn Manns tallied 13 points and 11 rebounds. Hope Kakihara and Aujane Mayes led the team with six and four assists, respectively.

As a team, Mt. SAC out rebounded the Olympians, 55-41 and outscored them in the paint (52-16), points on turnovers (39-3) and bench points (53-6).

Mesa's Samantha Lemay Zambrano led all players with 19 points.

The Mounties will face South Coast Conference rival Long Beach City College (7-6) in the second round on Sunday, Dec. 29, at 4 p.m. The Vikings downed West Hills-Lemoore (4-9) by the score of 59-43 in their opening-round matchup.
