SAN FRANCISCO - The City College of San Francisco women's soccer team opened Coast Conference North Division play with a 2-0 win over rival Las Positas College on Tuesday behind a pair of second-half goals by sophomore forward Leslie Murillo.
Despite outshooting Las Positas 6-1 in the first half, including two that went off the framework, the score was tied 0-0 going into halftime.
In the second half, the Rams kept up the pressure and were rewarded with a freekick from 25 yards out in the 68th minute. That was when Murillo stepped up and delivered a sublime freekick to the top corner. Later she added another in the 75th off an assist by Iliana Sanchez to seal the victory.
Goalkeeper Elvira Motuapuaka made some key saves in route to her third consecutive shutout.
