Tartars Lose a Close Battle to Desert in Their Pink Game

Compton, Calif. - The Compton College Tartar Football for a Cure Pink game was designated for Breast Cancer Awareness as the game was started off with a game ball presentation and a coin toss by Compton Community College District Board of Trustees Clerk Barbara Calhoun as they took on College of the Desert.

The Tartars played with high determination for their night pink game. The first quarter started out with what looked like it would be a high scoring game both teams scored touchdowns on their first drive. Desert's Kaleb Bryant scored on a 10-yard run and the Tartars quickly responded on the next drive with a 65-yard receiving touchdown by Arsiah McCorker.

College of the Desert would follow up with a touchdown reception at the end of the quarter by Mwanza Fitzpatrick. The Tartars continued to play the game with great effort and intent as the defense held Desert to a season low of 20 points, however the offense could not put together another drive to get into the end zone.

The Tartars next game will be on the road against Pasadena City College on September 23rd at 6 p.m.
