With less than a minute left in the game Saturday night at Sartoris Field, the possibility of a hard-fought victory slipped away from the Glendale College Football Team against visiting College of the Desert at Sartoris Field.

Despite the 54-50 loss, there was much to be gained for the Vaqueros as they seemed to regain their offensive swagger as sophomore quarterback Nick Garcia passed for 302 yards on 27 completions in 37 attempts and accounted for seven touchdowns, six in the air and one on the ground. He rushed for 37 yards in five attempts and had 339 yards of total offense.

And it was the overall effort for the Vaqueros that kept them coming from behind on several occasions and had them poised for victory leading 50-47 with 42.7 seconds left in the game when Garcia scored on a 1-yard run and John Delgado's extra point kick gave them the advantage before the ensuing 81-yard kickoff return with less than a minute on the clock iced the game for the Roadrunners.

Caleb Snowden paced the receivers with nine catches for 119 yards and two touchdowns and Artis Cole caught five passes for 65 yards and three touchdowns. Enrique Henry Diaz led the defensive effort with nine tackles, one tackle for a loss and one forced and recovered fumble.

Now 2-2, Glendale concludes non-conference play at home Saturday, October 1 against Santa Barbara City College at 6 p.m. at Sartoris Field.
