No. 3 doubles garners fourth straight win, 5-4

It all came down to the No. 3 doubles on Tuesday in Bakersfield and SBCC prevailed for its second straight 5-4 women's tennis victory.

Maddie Mitchell and Julie Kollandsrud rallied past Kenzi Williamson/Brandi Borjon 8-6 for the deciding point at No. 3 doubles. The Vaqueros (4-1, 3-0 WSC) have won four straight and three of those have been 5-4 decisions.

Josephine Pulver, Pia Valtierra and Kollandsrud earned singles points at Nos. 3, 4 and 6. Pulver/Valtierra cruised to an 8-0 shutout in the No. 2 doubles, setting the stage for the dramatic finish by Mitchell/Kollandsrud.

The Vaqueros will travel to Canyons on Thursday at 2 p.m., then play four in a row at home starting Tuesday vs. Victor Valley.
