Cold Shooting hurts Wildcats in loss at Citrus

Early in Wednesday's WSC-South contest, West LA gave the Owls
of Citrus College all they could handle. After going back in forth, Christian McCray's jumper Jeremy Robinson's 
gave WEST the lead at 8-7 with 16:23 remaining in the first half. Baskets by Jeremy Robinson and David Kellah
put WEST up 5. Derrick Woods' made it 19-11 with a jump shot and the Wildcats went up as much as eight.
Joseph Anderson connected with just under 2 minutes remaining in the first half and WLA had closed the Owls 
lead to just three. The Wildcats would go on to miss their last five shots of the half, meanwhile Citrus added six points 
to add to their lead.

The Wildcats couldn't get on track in the second half, due to cold shooting. WEST only shot 3 of 13 in the second half for
23.1. AJ Sims hit 2 of the 3. Sims scored 15 points in only nine minutes of play. Woods poured in12 of his game high 18 in the
second half. Citrus seemed to have things going their way at home. In the second half, that saw the Owls shoot 63% (17-27)
from the floor; Citrus also shot 22 free throws making 19 (86.4%).

Derrick Woods finished with 18 points, McCray and Sims added 16 and 15, respectively. Jeremy Robinson also chipped in with 11.
The loss drops the Wildcats to 13-4, 2-1 in the Western State Conference South Division. West LA returns home Saturday at 3:00
pm to face LA Valley College.
